I could not have asked for a more of a sign when fate puts two people in your life. Kaylin said yes to Nick in Charleston, South Carolina last weekend. This particular weekend is one I will never forget.
My dearest husband was sitting down on one of the benches nearby as I was finishing up my engagement session with another couple. I asked him if he was ready to go. He then informed me he promised the stranger, of whom he struck up a conversation with, that he was helping him out with a little something and he couldn’t leave just yet. I was very puzzled, but said okay. As the next few minutes of conversation go by I then learn that said stranger was about to propose to his girlfriend. There was no way in this side of the Mississippi I was going to not photograph this for them. I just knew in my gut that I had to do this one way or another. I kindly introduced myself to Nick and soon after watched their proposal story unfold.
Kaylin was being lead to Nick by her brother Hunter. Nick was in clothing he told me Kaylin would never recognize him in. We watched Nick’s GPS so we knew when go time was! I wasn’t too sure Kaylin would just not see her boo in front of her, but Nick was right she passed by him and didn’t even notice! Nick quickly walked up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and was soo sweet to him until he took off his hat and glasses. She was floored he was even there. Nick pulled the ring out of his pocket and immediately dropped to one knee. Kaylin of course accepted. Did I mention that Nick drove all the way from Deleware to propose in one of his favorite cities? How freaking awesome is that! I give them just a few minutes to settle in. I introduce myself and husband to Kaylin and we chatted for another minute or two. I unfortunately could not stay longer and had to leave.
Fast forward a few hours, I send over sneak peeks to Nick and I couldn’t resist the temptation. How can you come so far to such a pretty place and not leave with amazing engagement photos? I mean COME ON! This has to happen right! I reached out to Nick one more time and made the offer to meet. They accepted and went shopping that night for something to wear. Man did they knock this out of the park. I had such an amazing time with them. Their story is one that is close to my heart as my husband and I also met in high school. I totally feel like that day we were supposed to meet Nick and Kaylin. I am sure glad we did and am looking forward to hearing all about the wedding details. Happy engagement you two!
