Courtney and Collin met in September of 2009 through mutual friends. She was in her first year of college. Collin was in the initial stages of his dental career. One of Courtney’s best friends started dating one of Collin’s best friends. Their friend groups merged, and their relationship started blossoming from there. They made it official on December 13, 2009. To them, it doesn’t seem like it was that long ago. Neither of them is sure how they even lived without each other before they met. It is funny how these two grew up in neighboring towns. They never crossed paths, but are glad they finally got the chance to say hello to one another.
Collin’s proposal to Courtney was nearly thwarted by a little accident. They love to travel to the beach and spend time with friends on small weekend trips. Imagine just arriving and settling in with a glass of wine whilst sitting on the balcony watching the sunset. You go inside to get a refill and accidentally slam your RING FINGER closing the sliding glass door on the way back out! The internal panic had set in for Collin. He wasn’t sure if he would be able to put a ring on it or not. Dinner time starts to approach and Collin convinces her to dress up. Courtney is going through her suitcase looking for something to wear, not realizing he is right behind her. She turns around and Collin is on his knee with the ring in hand. You probably are wondering did the ring fit? The answer is YES! After a little ice and some time, the swelling subsided and the ring fits Courtney perfectly.

I have loved getting to know Courtney and Collin and becoming an honorary family member. They tied the knot at Magnolia Pond in Shellman, Georgia. Such a beautiful place and truly the perfect venue for their private wedding ceremony and reception. The day started with all the wonderful wedding day details. The venue, dress, reception, and everything in this wedding is proof you do not need a large wedding to be fancy or very beautiful. Simplicity was the key ingredient for Courtney and Collin. Friends and family pulled together to make their day go well. My favorite was a little surprise from a friend. They went around to everyone who wasn’t able to be present and made a video of everyone saying congrats or just telling stories from back in the day. It was an amazing way for people to get to share their day with those that could not be there to celebrate with them.
It was a beautiful day with amazing weather and awesome people. Thank you Courtney and Collin for trusting me to capture your stunning day. I will be talking about the possibility of Gilbert Godfrey gracing his presence in your wedding video for years to come. I was too scared to get up and find out for sure. Definitely won’t forget his ability and shock and awe everyone. It was fabulous. Cannot wait for those one-year anniversary portraits!
